宁 甲骨文象在室内置放器皿之形，会意安宁。篆书加心字，表示内心安宁。《说文》注：“安也。从宀，心在皿上。皿，人之饮食器。所以安人。”宁义为安定、安宁。心在皿上，表示家中安宁。宁作地名，是南京市之别称。
