A vivid Chinese lesson
Yingjia Gao as a teacher .she is a 8-years-old girl.
One day in May 2015, the Year 4 teacher Miss Minty of Merrin School, Christchurch, NZ, invited Yingjia Gao, an 8-year-old Chinese student to teach the class.
2015年5月的一天，新西兰基督城的Merrin School小学四年级的老师Miss Minty，叫八岁的中国留学生高莺嘉上讲台给全班同学上中文课。
First,she wrote the Chinese character “蛇” on the board. She said those who learn Chinese characters must understand its radical (word family). The radical of "蛇" （left part） is “虫”, indicating that snakes are insects. The right part "它" is like a bending snake, the top is the head, the bottom is the curved tail and the middle is the snakes body. The pronunciation of “蛇” is "Shé".
莺嘉上台后，先写出“蛇”字。她告诉同学们，学汉字要先看它的偏旁（字族），“蛇”的偏旁是虫，说明蛇是虫类。“它”字象条弯曲的蛇形：上面是蛇头，中间是蛇身，下面是弯曲的尾巴。读音是“Shé”，英语为“snake”。
The second word is "龙". Yingjia said: This is a vivid pictograph. The line above is the dragon head; the vertical-left strike is the dragon claw; the middle is the dragon body; and the vertical hook strike is its coiled tail. The pronunciation is "Lóng".
第二个字是“龙”字。莺嘉说：这是一个生动的象形字。上面是龙头，伸出来的一撇是龙爪，中间是龙身，弯转回撇的是盘曲的龙尾。读音是“Lóng”，英语为“dragon”。
Then, she wrote the character "海" on the board. She said the radical “氵” means water. The right part “母”means mother, which represents that the sea is the mother of rivers. Water comes from the sea, and returns back to the sea. The pronunciation is "Hǎi".
她接着在黑板上写了一个“海”字。她说：三点水就是河，象弯曲的河流。旁边的”母“字，表示海是河流的母亲。天上的水都是从海上来的，又回归大海。读音是“Hǎi ”，英文为“sea”。
The last character is “妈”. She said the radical “女” is like a lady standing elegantly. The right part "马" is the sound symbol. The pronunciation is "mā".
最后一个“妈”字。她说：右边偏旁的“女”字就像一位姿态优美的妇女。“马”是声音符号。中文读音“mā”，英文为“mother”。
Applying all the knowledge about “decoding Chinese” that she learned from her octogenarian grandfather Wang Lan in the recent 3 months, the 8 year old Chinese young student, Yingjia Gao successfully fulfilled her teaching task. All her ethnic classmates are very excited. They find it very interesting to learn Chinese, and hope to have more Chinese classes.
八岁的中国小留学生高莺嘉应用她近两个月来，从八十岁的汪岚爷爷那里学来的“解码学中文”的四种方法，成功地完成了老师交给她的教授中文课的任务。听讲的各族小朋友都非常兴奋，感到学中文很有趣，并希望莺嘉以后多讲点给他们听.

Soon after that, Gao Yingjia was invited to the Confucius Institute at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand to talk to her brother and sister about her experience of decoding the Chinese language, which was welcomed and praised by everyone. September 2015
