页   甲骨文象突出头大之人形。《说文》注：“头也。”页义为头，读音为xiē。页字多处作为偏旁，代表人之头部，如头、颅、颜、颊、颌、颈、项等。但真正作为书本页字之“页”，其原文是“竹片之形”。页为儿童习字所用之竹片，一片称一叶（读yè）。以后用纸代替竹简后，叶字即为页字所替代，而页代表头首之义只在形符中使用。引申扉页、插页、页码等。现代又指计算机之网页。
