土-77 （人在土上） 壬 (名) the ninth of the Heavenly Stems

壬   甲骨文象人挺立站于土堆之上，形如挺立。徐锴注：“壬，字形作人在土堆之上形，表示其处高厚。”壬在天干中列第九位。《说文》注：“壬，善也。一说象物出挺生也。”其实壬就是古挺字。壬与妊、任二字含义不同。
