杰   甲骨文象一立于地而直昂向上之大树形。篆书为形声字。人为形符；桀为声符。《说文》注：“傲也。从人,桀声。”杰谓杰出、超群。亦指特异超群之人。古称才能超过万人为杰。引申杰出、杰作、豪杰等。
